TEO TRELOAR

Teo Treloar is a Dharawal Country/South Coast-based artist whose drawing practice bridges representational and abstract concerns. Illustration is the foremost device, in which Treloar attempts to present a select cast of characters in and out of context. The resulting compositions commonly imagine the inner workings of human behaviour, and carefully articulate its temptations and corruptions. Repetition and duality are key to his approach, often representing how thoughts can be processed and turned over in the mind. Beauty and aesthetics are important to Treloar and are fostered in equal parts by focused attention to detail and exploration of composition and materials.
